As a Web Design intern, you will be an integral part of the CareFirst Marketing team. We are looking for students with a passion for continuous learning and development with a desire to advance their knowledge and education in a business environment

You will work closely with other members of the Marketing team to create and maintain digital assets to support the CareFirst brand.

Ideal candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and ethics.

The ideal candidate is a student who can work throughout the year a minimum of 15-20 hours in the Fall and Spring and full-time in the Summer.

The target start date for this internship will be after the 1st of the year 2023 in the Spring Semester.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES : • Assist in designing and developing external web campaigns in compliance with CareFirst policies and procedures • Support email communications and list distributions with potential minor edits to templates • Promote and strengthen the CareFirst Brand Identity through digital marketing • Create, edit and design the layout and coding of websites and pages • Develop wireframe designs, site architecture, and other user interface diagrams to demonstrate user flow and functionality • Research industry competitors, new usability technologies, and user experience best practices • Collaborate with different areas within Marketing and IT to support product and project launches • Attend departmental and supporting project meetings

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education Level : This position requires an individual working towards at-least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University.

Experience : Junior or Senior Undergraduate student targeting majors in Web Design, Web Development, Digital Design, Communications Design, Graphic Design or related studies with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

Knowledge Skills Abilities (KSA's) : • Intermediate skills using Adobe Suite to include (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) • Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint and Excel) and on-line internet tools and search engines • Basic understanding of web design best practices • Strong analytical and information organization skills are essential • Strong written and verbal communications skills • Knowledge of responsive design with a strong focus on mobile • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks • Working knowledge of front-end coding in HTML and CSS • Basic understanding of Bootstrap framework (preferred)
