THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION FOR THE 2024 SEASON (APRIL THROUGH EARLY NOVEMBER) - THIS IS A FULLY REMOTE POSITION • *THIS POSITION IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR H2B APPLICANTS
Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands' only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Marketing and PR Intern. This is a Full-Time/Seasonal position is that offers competitive pay and other perks. The ideal applicant will possess an upbeat attitude and enjoy working in a multi-cultural environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing and PR Intern will assist the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and PR & Marketing Manager in development for content creation both internally with employee communications and externally with transient and group communications to achieve sales goals and improve employee communications, engagement and retention. Marketing will work closely with the Human Resources department on content direction.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or other relevant field or 4 years of similar experience • Ability to live on or travel to and work on Mackinac Island for the summer season. • Previous experience in Public Relations / Marketing within hospitality industry preferred. • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. • Previous experience with social media sites preferred. • Ability to problem solve and make decisions guided by policy and procedures. • Must be able to learn quickly and be able to learn on the job.
