Data Science Internship: As a Data Science Intern, you will be an integral part of the team working with the Engineering and Data Science Teams to tackle real challenges, cultivate your curiosity, have client exposure, enjoy both personal and team accomplishments and have your initiative acknowledged along the way. You will collaborate and build relationships with colleagues and clients who represent diverse work, culture and resolution styles. We look for people who want to grow, support, think and produce. Your Work: This position is part of the Engineering and Data Sciences team. Your project will connect you back to the business where you will interact with a multidisciplinary team of plant managers, process control engineers etc. You will bring strong technical skills to our Data Science capabilities. You will explore, connect, and mine data in addition to developing models using various algorithms. In this position you will be part of the AI in Smart Manufacturing Capability where you will be working to solve reliability, energy performance, safety, predictive maintenance, forecasting, and optimization problems. 70% - Develop and code models by applying algorithms to large structured as well as unstructured data and completing project deliverables 20% - Work in a cross-disciplinary project team of software engineers, database specialists, data scientists, and business subject-matter experts to develop a project plan and deliverables, plus communicate technical solutions to a non-technical audience. 10% - Design strategies and propose algorithms to analyze and leverage data from a variety of sources. Compensation: The expected hourly rate for this position is $39.00 - $42.00. Compensation decisions are dependent on graduation date and eligibility for full-time employment. Strong background in time series and streaming data analysis, industrial engineering, statistical process monitoring and control. In-depth knowledge of various other modeling algorithms, e.g., regression, trees-based models, neural networks, ensembles, etc. Proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, bokeh, matplotlib, NumPy) Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June - August 2024) Proven ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance Preferred Qualifications: GPA of 3.0 or above Experience in agriculture, commodity, or manufacturing businesses Experience in deep learning neural networks Experience working in a cloud environment e.g., Amazon Web Services Experience with Big Data development in Hadoop and Spark frameworks Equal Opportunity Employer, including Disability/Vet
