Who We Are

We are a team of passionate engineers who love solving complex distributed systems and infrastructure problems. Real-time infrastructure is the future and we are creating a new category for it - ‘Data in Motion’.

Your Impact • To design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software that will touch production and have a customer-facing impact • Follow best practices for software development and participate in code reviews • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables • Help build the next generation Kafka by continuing to push the boundaries of distributed system design

Who You Are • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Math, or a related technical field with a graduation date between August 2024 - December 2025 • Self-motivated and able to drive projects with mentorship and project requirements • Ability to work effectively in teams and strong verbal and written communication skills • Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms and are proficient in at least one of these languages: Java/Scala, C, C++, GoSmart, humble, and empathetic • Driven and excited about the challenges of a fast-paced, innovative, and quickly growing software development environment • Interested in building large-scale distributed systems in the cloud and are excited to make an impact

Location: • At the time of your start date, you will be required to be located in the location on your offer letter. • This internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace as you will be required to work from your Atlanta-based home location at least 3-4 times per week. • A $3,500 USD lump sum payment at the start of your internship for a housing stipend. • Access to FlexDesk, a space aggregator that allows Confluent employees to book desks, day offices and meeting spaces at a variety of space providers • Should you receive a return offer at the close of the internship, you will sit in Atlanta, Georgia.

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. This position has a fixed salary of $40/hr for Bachelors and $44/hr for Masters and includes a housing stipend.
