The Summer Internship

At Discord, we offer a personalized experience for interns, and our aim is to offer an experience that mimics what it is like to actually work here. We match qualified interns with projects and groups, based on interests and skill sets and fully embed interns within those groups for the summer.

Internships are paid and are a minimum of 12 weeks, targeting a start date in June to accommodate varying school calendars.

The Team

The Nitro Growth Team grows familiarity and awareness of Nitro at Discord. The team is a full stack engineering group that works with product, design, data science, and marketing.

What You'll Be Doing

• Working across the stack to build new features.
• Partner with design and product managers to create delightful interfaces and experiences.
• Collaborate with the team through the product development lifecycle.

You'll Thrive In This Role If...

• We're a multi-platform team, so it's important to understand the development frameworks and fundamentals of one or more of our platforms: web (React, TypeScript), Android (React Native, Kotlin), iOS (React Native, Objective-C, Swift), and backend (Python and some Elixir).
• You enjoy experimenting with new features to solve user problems
• You operate autonomously and have experience leading projects
• In the process of obtaining a Bachelors (rising Junior/Senior) Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related technical field

Bonus Points

• Strong open-source leadership or contributions
• Experience making hard tradeoffs between important goals
