About the opportunity:

As a private equity business development intern, you will dive into the heart of private equity operations, gaining invaluable exposure and experience within a private equity firm. You will collaborate closely with our Vice President of Business Development, immersing yourself in the intricacies of day-to-day activities and deal origination processes. As a vital contributor, you will have the unique opportunity to engage with business owners interested in discussing a potential liquidity event, making a real impact on the growth and success of the Hemingway portfolio. You will also gain exposure to other aspects of the deal-making processes as well as Hemingway’s current portfolio companies.

Hemingway has a hardworking but laid-back, entrepreneurial culture. The team has closed four transactions to date with one other currently in process.

This is a part-time role for the spring semester with the option for you to continue into the summer or fall semester.

Requirements and qualifications required includes:

• Currently enrolled in an MBA program with a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of finance coupled with a strong intellectual curiosity, excellent organizational skills, and an eagerness to learn about new industries
• Interest in pursuing a career in private equity
• Must be comfortable interacting with business owners directly via email and/or phone
• Team player who is honest, friendly, diligent, curious, and maintains a positive attitude
