Job purpose

The User Experience (UX) Design Intern contributes to the development of current and future generations of the LifeVest and related software products. UX Designer Interns are part of a collaborative team including researchers, human factors, marketing professionals, software developers, and internal stakeholders that help brainstorm, ideate, and create user interfaces and processes for our medical device products.

Duties and responsibilities • Design wireframes and mockups with GUI design tools. • Interview internal and external stakeholders and users. • Aid in user testing, create protocols, run tests, create reports, and conduct data analysis. • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, metrics, usability findings, and design critiques. • Innovate on existing ideas and produce new ways to help patients and other users. • Create design documentation and execute user research activities.

Qualifications • Currently enrolled or have experience in Human Computer Interaction Design, Computer Science, Design, Fine Arts, Behavioral Science, Psychology, Human Factors or a related field. • Experience with Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or other GUI design tools. • Understanding of web and mobile GUI best practices. • Experience creating low fidelity prototypes. • Experience with user testing. • Portfolio with 2-3 examples of your design work demonstrating the design process.

Working conditions

This position is generally performed in a typical office environment that is usually quiet. Employee is expected to work collaboratively with team members, as well as able to work independently with limited supervision. Work will require significant computer and telephone work.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Supervisory responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
